A gift for Goodwill

Every year, from November through December, acts of kindness and charitable works seem to be an intrinsic part of the Holiday Season.  This past year, an organization that works year round to help the people of the region partnered with Eastwood Mall to help even more citizens.   Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries established a location in the mall where people were encouraged to drop off their gently worn clothing.  Those who donated were thanked with gift cards for use at stores and restaurants throughout the mall complex.  The result was startling.  Goodwill collected 5,981 pounds of clothing, which are being refurbished and sold in Goodwill’s thrift stores.  Ultimately the revenues from those sales fund the organization’s workforce development mission, providing vocational training for the unemployed and those with disabilities.

In recognition of the work Goodwill does, the Cafaro Foundation will present a donation to the organization on Friday, March 15, at 10 AM in the atrium of the Eastwood Office Centre, adjoining Eastwood Mall.
