Eastwood Mall opening first Sierra Trading Post outdoor sports store in region in 2025

The northeast Ohio region’s first Sierra Trading Post store selling outdoors sports apparel and equipment is coming to shoppers at the Eastwood Mall in Niles. Construction on the new Sierra Trading Post is set to begin this fall in the Howland Commons section of the Eastwood Complex, next to HomeGoods, according to Joe Bell, director of corporate communications at the Cafaro Company.

The store is expected to open in 2025. They’ll have clothing and equipment for camping, running, fishing, skiing, swimming, cycling and hiking. Founded in 1986, there are currently 101 Sierra Trading Post stores operating in the U.S. Sierra Trading Post started as a catalog company in Reno, Nevada, opening their first retail store in 1990. In 1988, it became one of the first catalog companies to create and keep an Internet presence. In 2012, Sierra Trading Post was acquired by TJX Companies Inc., which also operates T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, Marshalls and HomeSense.
