Eastwood Turns 45

The Mahoning Valley’s premier retail destination is celebrating a milestone: Its Sapphire Anniversary.   On September 17, 1969, Eastwood Mall formally opened its doors to the public. That morning, shopping mall pioneer William M. Cafaro cut the ribbon to the region’s first enclosed mall, assisted by his wife, Alyce his daughter-in-law Phyllis and Miss U.S.A, Wendy Danscomb.  Since then, the lineup of retailers has changed a quite a bit and the mall complex has welcomed an incredible array of new dining, lodging and entertainment offerings.  In celebrating the occasion, the owners and managers of Eastwood Mall thank their loyal friends and neighbors who have made the shopping center a tremendous success.  A brief ceremony marking the 45th Anniversary will take place at 11AM on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, in the mall’s Center Court.
