Shoppers get last-minute gifts at local mall

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) — The Eastwood Mall closed at 5 p.m. Tuesday which was great for people who needed to do some last-minute shopping.

Throughout the month the Eastwood Mall was prepared to ensure everyone got what they needed. They even said that the weekend before Christmas rivaled the crowds on Black Friday.

Sometimes waiting until the last minute makes it easier. One store manager said they’ve seen people get all their shopping done in one stop.

“Some people like it that way though. They get all their stuff done. We’ve seen people come in here and they’ll just get everyone off their list in one shopping trip so it definitely is still possible,” said Youngstown Clothing Company manager Miranda Balmer.

The mall will be closed Wednesday and will reopen Thursday morning.

“Let me tell you something — it has been very busy at this mall. We have been. Our store had one of the best months in years. We’ve really done well here and it is a busy, busy place,” said Reyers shoe store owner Steven Jubelirer.
